Most of the filming for The Last Jedi has been done in the studios. With the movie calling for a huge number of sets to be constructed, filming The Last Jedi was a mammoth task. Initially, the movie demanded a total of 160 different sets to be constructed.

After several rewrites and changes in the script, the number was supposed to be halved. While that didn’t happen, the final number stood at a staggering 125 sets. This was done at the Pinewood Studios in England, for which all 14 sound stages were used by the crew.

The Old Town streets of Dubrovnik, as well as places like St. Blaise Church, were used for the filming of The Last Jedi. While we see otherworldly places in The Last Jedi, they are but natural shots of Earth itself. The scenes in the movie which depict the planet Crait, a former Rebel Alliance base, are actually filmed in Bolivia. The scenes have been filmed in the Salt flats in Daniel Campos Province, in Potosi.

The salt flats actually look right out of the world. If you’re visiting the country of Bolivia, then you definitely need to pay a visit to Salar de Uyuni. It is not something you would see every day, so the visit makes it worth it!

While Luke doesn’t agree to train and help Rey at first, he eventually gives in. Ahch-To is a planet that is mostly water, with land found only in a few places and the old temple where Luke resides.

The location is actually an island called Skellig Michael Island, which is located almost ten miles off the coast of Ireland and is truly out of the world. It also has a monastery up on the top, which is said to be at least from the 6th century! Talk about a unique experience!

Brow Head, County Cork, Ireland

Ireland has a lot of variety when it comes to geographical diversity, and Brow Head is a great example of that. It is a unique landscape with nothing but wilderness surrounding it. Brow Head is located in a rural area called Mallavoge in the County Cork region. While there are no touristy things to do in the region, it sure is a fun secluded place to be. Oh, and if you love Star Wars, then it has even more significance for you!

One of the Jedi Temple sets has been created in Dingle in Ireland. Not only is the peninsula area known for its beauty, but it has a lot of fauna too. Known throughout the world for its bottlenose dolphins, Dingle is a great place to visit. While the dolphins don’t feature in The Last Jedi, the location did play an important part in the movie.
