And upon reaching the farmhouse Tyler starts video logging the trip for memories. Soon enough, defying the commands of their grandmother Tyler and Becca explore the basement out of curiosity and discover a blood stained chainsaw and a couple axes! 

Terror stricken at first, they remain silent, but with each passing day observe the evil intentions of their grandparents. Finally they contact their mother and show the video of the weird findings. To which Loretta immediately asks them to stay safe and hold each other’s back, until she comes down with the authorities. 

As the people shown in the video, are not the real grandparents of Tyler and Becca. Eventually the impostors who escaped the mental hospital and killed Loretta’s parents, attack the kids. But Tyler and Becca end up killing the psychos while defending their lives and successfully escape the horror house! The film ends as the police arrive at the crime scene, and the kids are shown to reunite with their mother!

Where Was The Visit Filmed? Let’s Know This Psychological Horror Film Closely!!

Director M Night Shyamalan and the production unit did the very best they could, with the minimal filming budget they had! Instead of choosing to film The Visit at any exotic location, the production crew decided to shoot in the state of Pennsylvania. 

The story of the film is set in the city of Philadelphia, thus the location scouts began searching for an ideal filming location in the city! And selected a few places to shoot the initial scenes of the film. Although the majority of the filming took place in other parts of Pennsylvania. Principal photography began in February 2014 and was completed in two months!

Royersford, Chester Springs | Pennsylvania

Where Was The Visit Filmed? A Nerve Wracking 2015 Horror Flick!!

The small town, where the grandparents of Tyler and Becca are shown to live in the film, was actually the city of Royersford. Located in Montgomery County this place is only a couple miles away from Philadelphia. 

The production unit shot mostly outdoor scenes at this location. The street chase scene where Tyler and Becca are shown running for their lives, was filmed at 330 Main St. Royersford. The production unit brought in special light and sound equipment, while filming this scene at night.

Other outdoor scenes were filmed during the day at 705 Washington St. Royersford. But the filming crew had a hard time managing the crowd during the rush hours. They later changed the time of filming and began capturing the shots early in the morning.

Then the production unit changed its filming location to the neighboring Chester County. The actual horror house that is shown in the film, is located at Chester Springs. The exterior shots of the house were taken at 3049 Merlin Rd, Chester Springs. Few other scenes of the surroundings were filmed here as well. The filming at this place was completed in a week or so.

The opening scene that featured the 30th St Station, is located at 3001 Market St. Special permission was taken from the North American Railways for shooting at this place.
