But that wasn’t the case, all major sequences of Snowed-Inn Christmas were filmed in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Except, the opening sequence of the movie was shot in California. The principal photography began towards the end of October 2016 and was completed within 2 months. The opening sequence of the movie, where we see the lead actors walking out from their office building in New York, was actually in California, specifically in Los Angeles. A vacant corporate office space was turned around by the filming crew to make it look like the New York magazine office. The crew filmed several interior sequences inside the same space, in just two weeks, and then moved to the next filming location.

As mentioned, all major sequences of Snowed-Inn Christmas were filmed in and around the metropolitan city of Winnipeg. The production members used a vintage-styled Cottage, located near the intersection of the Assiniboine and Red rivers. A huge chunk of the production budget was spent to remodel the vacation inn for shooting the interior and outdoor sequences. The sequences of the cozy winter cottage were then filmed. Although while shooting the outdoor sequences, the production members faced a huge problem. 

The sub-zero temperatures and the snow storms almost delayed the entire filming schedule. However, Yates later instructed the members to pause shooting the exterior scenes for a couple of days and film the interior scenes, inside a well-equipped studio, until the weather cleared. Shooting in Winnipeg lasted for about a month or so in total, after which the entire filming process was wrapped, and the members returned to America.

Later in the film, due to a mishap, the flight to Aspen from JFK Airport gets canceled, forcing the writers to change their travel plans. Jenna and Kevin, then visit the picturesque town of Santa Claus in Indiana. Soon the lead actors share about each other’s lives and grow affinity towards one another.
