As mentioned above, there’s no way you can edit a comment after you’ve posted it. However, you have the option to delete a comment and then post an edited (& proofread) version of the previous one again. Here’s how this can be done:

• Open the Instagram app on your Android or iOS device. 
• Go to the post that contains the comment you wish to edit. 
• Tap on the comment icon located below the post. 
• Locate the comment that you wish to edit. 
• If you’re using an iOS device, swipe left on the comment. In case you’re using an Android device, tap on the comment and hold it. 
• On an iOS device, you will notice two icons beside your comment. One of these will be a trash bin. 
• Tap on the trash bin icon. 
• Your comment will be deleted. A red banner will appear at the top of the screen saying something like ‘1 comment deleted. Tap to undo’. So, if you have a change of mind, then you will have 2-3 seconds to undo your action and restore your comment. After this, you will not be able to get your deleted comment back.
• Now, you can type your amended comment in the ‘Add a comment’ section. Once done, tap ‘Post’ next to it.

Because here, we’ll be first copying our comment before deleting it.

• Open a web browser of your choice. 
• Go to Instagram.com
