Satire is the highest form of wit they say! (It’s Irony actually) But anyway, if you still happen to enjoy witty yet extremely funny satirical sitcoms, then be sure to check this article, where I discuss the show, 30 Rock. And also share with you where was 30 Rock filmed.

The American satirical television series, 30 Rock, made its inception in October 2006. Creator of the show Tina Fey, decided to televise the show on NBC. The basic premise of the sitcom is based on the encounters of Tina at Saturday Night Live (SNL), as a head writer. 30 Rock, is presented in a manner that depicts behind the scene action of television hosts, being aired live on NBC.

The show was received well by the audience and even gathered high praises from the critics. 30 Rock was nominated 342 times in total and won 90 awards during the 7 seasons! Out of which the show won 16 prestigious Primetime Emmy awards.

Let us now discuss the plot of the series in brief! So, that you may get a clear understanding of the basic premise. Plus, later in this article I will also tell you more about, where was 30 Rock filmed.

Plot Of 30 Rock | What’s It About

The show begins by introducing us to the central character of Liz Lemon (played by Tina Fey), as the creator and writer of The Girlie Show. The initial seasons of 30 Rock gives us a back story about the protagonist, who’s shown to live with her ever enthusiastic parents in Pennsylvania. The little town of White Haven is where she grew up, before making it to the big city.

At present she is shown to face a number of workplace challenges, while working with her boss, Jack Donaghy (played by Alec Baldwin). Who’s over the top gusto drives Liz nuts! Add to that the snobby star of the show that Liz handles, Tracy Jordan (played by Tracy Morgan) never ceases to throw idiotic tantrums! Tracy’s exaggerated estimate about his prowess in acting and stardom, repels the protagonist of the show to the absolute core.

Nevertheless, Liz still maneuvers through the idiosyncrasies of her boss and other characters in the show, almost on an everyday basis. However, it’s not that dreary as it might sound because the events that take place and the way Liz is shown to react, is absolutely hysterical.

The show stands as a sharp commentary on the contemporary workplace culture and gender divide in America. Presented neatly in a well structured satirical sitcom.
