How To Do Picture In Picture On Instagram Stories?

How To Do Picture In Picture On Instagram In 2023? Learn Here!

Have you seen people post one picture over the other over Instagram stories? Well, they do it using one of the inbuilt features of Instagram. This feature can be found in the story section of the app. And well, just like every other feature present in the story section, using this one is pretty easy, too.

So, if you want to know how to do picture in picture on Instagram using this story feature, follow these steps:

  • Launch the Instagram app on your phone.
  • Navigate to the story section by tapping on the plus icon located at the bottom of your home page, or simply swipe right from there.
  • When the camera opens, take a picture on the spot using the round shutter button. Alternatively, you can upload something premade by tapping on the small square gallery icon present at the bottom left corner of the screen. Doing so will bring up your camera roll there. You can simply select something you’ve already taken from here.
  • After you’ve got your main picture on the screen, you can add an additional picture. To do this, first tap on the sticker icon located at the top of the screen.
  • From the different stickers and GIFs that come up, tap on the icon with two overlapping rectangles with a plus inside it.
  • On doing so, your camera roll will open. Select the image that you want on top of the image you had previously selected.
  • Once you select the image, it will appear on your screen. You can tap on the image to change its shape or size. Originally, the image is going to come in a vertical rectangle. Keep tapping on it until you’ve got the shape/ size you wish to have. You have the option to choose from squares, circles, stars, etc.
    • However, please note that choosing any of these shapes does crop your picture in a very weird manner. It cuts out most of the picture,y and you can’t adjust the picture to fit the frame either.
  • After you’ve got a picture-in-picture effect on your screen, you can edit your story further if you want to.
  • Tap on the Aa icon if you want to share your thoughts about what you’re posting. You can align your text however you want, you can highlight it, and change its color and font style.
  • Tap on the sticker icon again and scroll through the sticker and GIF options present in the menu if you want to add these things. It’s absolutely optional, but adding stickers and  GIFs, some music, etc., does make your story more interesting.
  • Tap on the three-dot icon located at the top right corner of the screen and choose “Draw” from the menu that appears if you wish to draw something on top of your story.

Once you’ve edited the story the way you want to, tap on the “Your Story” button located at the bottom of the screen. If you wish to share the story with only a select group of people, tap on “Close Friends.”

And, done! Your picture-in-picture story is now posted on Instagram!
