The 3 Driving Mistakes You Should Never Do Behind The Wheel

We all feel driving is easy, but it isn’t! Whether you are an experienced driver or a  teen driver, the risks of driving are quite the same. Overconfidence and unskilled driving can often land us in trouble.

Obviously, who finds accidents adventurous, I mean who? It can cause multiple injuries, and also increase your car insurance premiums.  Various car insurance calculators can help you with the increased premiums.

Anyway, In this article, we will like to share certain Don’ts or driving mistakes, that we commit, even after knowing that it could be dangerous. So, let’s know all in detail!

Texting While Driving

Texting while driving is becoming such a prevalent problem that it is looking like it will overtake drunk driving as a cause of a lot of accidents that happen every year. This is because people assume that they can multitask while driving and that they are not going to cause an accident. The problem is that when you read a text and then respond, you are taking your eyes off the road for up to eight seconds.

A lot of things can happen during that time frame such as driving off the road and striking a pedestrian, or hitting the car in front of you if it slows down or stops. There is no time to break when you don’t see what the issue is since you are looking at your phone.

If you have an important text to read and respond to then you should pull off the road to someplace safe and deal with it there. Under no circumstances should you try to do this while driving.

Eating And Drinking

Imagine if you are cut off suddenly by a car that then slows down. You’ll have a fraction of a second to respond and avoid an accident. If your hand is holding some food or a cup of coffee then this is going to impede your ability to react in time.

The problem with eating and drinking while driving is that it is a form of distracted driving. When you are behind the wheel you should be focused solely on driving and not doing anything else. Anything that takes your eyes off the road or slows your ability to react to things happening around you should always be avoided.

Get Road Rage

Driving can be quite stressful when there are bad drivers all around you. It is very tempting to lose control when you are cut off or somebody does something that puts you in danger. You have to resist the temptation to try to intimidate or threaten another driver.

Not only does it put you in further danger by risking an accident, but it can also be dangerous because you don’t know how the other person will react.
