#1 Understand Your Cube
This little box you are holding right now has two layers ( top and bottom), eight corners ( with three colored tiles each), and six faces: white in front of yellow, orange in front of red, and blue in front of the green.
For the sake of convenience, we have named these faces in this article as U (up face), D (down face), L (left face), R (right face), F (front face), and B (back face).
#2 Algorithm Keys Matter
Take the help of these algorithm keys and thank us later – R: move the right side of the cube clockwise, R’: push the right side of the cube anti-clockwise, L: move the left side of the cube anti-clockwise, and L’: move the left side of the cube clockwise.
U: move the upper side of the cube clockwise, U’: roll the upper side of the cube anti-clockwise, D: move the downside of the cube anti-clockwise, and D’: move the downside of the cube clockwise.
F: move the front side of the cube clockwise, F’: move the front side of the cube anti-clockwise, B: move the backside of the cube clockwise, and B’ move the bottom of the cube anti-clockwise.
#3 How You Should Start?
After scrambling, find the Rubik’s logo on your cube and locate the white tile on it. You have found the top layer. Hence, the blue tile represents the right face, the red tile represents the front face, and the white tile represents the UP face.
Do this algorithm: R’, D’, R, D. You need to use this algorithm once, twice, or thrice, depending upon when the two white pieces will match up. Now, by doing this, you have succeeded in solving the first half of white face.
To solve the remaining white face, repeat this algorithm until the third piece lines up and repeat this for the fourth. Turn the cube to put the white face at the bottom.
#4 How You Should End?
One of the primary keys to solving this mysterious little thing is perseverance. Now it’s time for the orientation of the yellow face. This algorithm will do wonders- R, U, R’, U, R, U2, R’. Note that you might need to do this 5- 6 times.
You need to orient your cube so that the two permuted pieces are at the back, and it has to match with the bottom layer and consequently solve the face. It’s time for another magical algorithm: R’, F, R’, B2, R2, U’.
You can repeat this up to 5 times but see that the two pieces are not diagonal to each other. If they are, then bring them next to each other, and it’s time to shift the solved pieces to the back and repeat the algorithm. Tada Mission Accomplished.
